HOD , Basic Science and Humanities Department

Science is the collection of nature answer and Humanities is the collection of mens thoughts

                The Basic Science and Humanities department (BSH) of Sophitorium Engineering College contains different subject namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and English. It also imparts training programme in communication skills, soft skills, organisational behaviour, and personal development. Basic Science and Humanities department believes in a holistic approach the newly admitted students.

                 The department has its own Physics, Chemistry and English lab for its students and encourage them to participate in national and international level competitions. It provides scientific lab for Physics, Chemistry and language lab for English. The department organise different training programmes for the students to acquire English knowledge and makes enormous effort to increase their English proficiency skills and improvement in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation skills to cope up with the competitive job market. The department also delivers the mathematics classes to students. It includes calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, complex analysis, probability distribution, numerical methods, discrete mathematics etc.


               The department of Basic Science and Humanities have experienced and qualified faculties. They have been putting their steady efforts to improve the students learning, research and development processes. Apart from teaching and learning, students’ personality, communication and soft skills are the high priority task for the department. We involve in best teaching methodologies and try to solve many perplexed problems which pave a way to become a successful engineer.

The main vision of this department is to groom the students with intellectual knowledge and also make them professionally skilled and to inculcate Social, Ethical and moral values among the students. The faculty members of Basic Science and humanities department have always tried to provide the best in terms of teaching, knowledge and skill enhancement. So that students will be equipped with the basic knowledge of science and engineering skills. BSH of SEC is dedicated to uplift the student’s career prospects and giving motivation to their creativity. We are determined to prepare students to take part in global job market.
